Joseph puts a gun to the man's head, and looks to Angelo.

Joseph: Should I shoot him?

By using "should" does it sound like Joseph is unsure of what to do and seeks advise from Angelo or does it sound like he's asking purely for what Angelo wants?

I don't know if you follow, so let me also ask this way... Is "Should I shoot him?" closest in meaning to "Do you think I should shoot him?" or "Do you want me to shoot him?"? Or is it somewhere in between?
