Should have told + tenses

Suppose my friend is over 40 and he met a woman under 20. The woman mistakenly thought he was 30.

"You should have told her that you were over 40," or "you should have told her that you are over 40," which one is correct?

If I use reported speech, "you should have said that you were over 40," or "you should have said that you are over 40," which one is correct?

Thank you very much!!
