Jack: Do you think Alex is still working on the project?
Jennifer: He should have finished yesterday.

Is this conversation correct? Does 'should've' mean expectation? meaning I expect him to be done yesterday on the project? Thank you.

He should've been done with the project by the time I finish mine.

I know I could use just should+verb but I saw this in grammar book but I have actually never heard anyone use
