Many people hold the opinion that going to class should be required rather than optional, while others adhere to an opposite view. I think the class should be required because attending class is more efficient for the student to acquire knowledge and also helps student to save their time. I will explore these two ideas below.
To begin with, I must say students acquire better knowledge by attending classes. There is no doubt that students have more options to improve their understanding of the subject when they attend. They can ask the professors to repeat any ambiguities.in contrast, the student who decides to learn from the note of his friends who attended physically the class, he will always have gaps in information and miss some important details. My experience in the college is a good example of what I mean. When I started the college. I had the option to attend class or not. That time I was young I did not realize the importance of attending classes. Then I decided to attend class only once a week and later copied the note from my friends. This decision was a hassle because it was hard to get the notes from other students and sometimes their writing was illegible. More importantly Understanding some subjects without professors was challenging. As result I had F in three classes.

Furthermore, attending classes helps student to save time. Almost for sure the student who attends class had already understood the 80% of the subject he just needs few minutes later in the library to review his notes.This will help him to focus on other subject where he has weaknesses. I can recall my own experience. I was not attending classes and relied on friends to explain to me later and get their notes. I started to feel I am the only one who is struggling to understand simple things.My friends who attend told me that was simple and I could understand it better if I had attended class. I was spending hours and hours to try to understand some material while my friends took them only few minutes to assimilate it. As results, I did not have the time to review all the subjects before final exams.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that attending class should be required rather than optional. This is because more efficient way for students to acquire knowledge and it will help them to save time.
