Should allow no

Hi.

If you say "I should allow no dog of mine..."

do you mean that you have several dogs an not one of them will...(something)?

Thanks.

No, in fact, the person may not even have one dog. It simply means that the person thinks that no one should allow any dog to do that. " even though I don't have any sons.

I could say "No son of mine would be allowed to behave that way!" even though I don't have any sons.

(Are you sure you mean "should" instead of "would"?)

Thanks.

But it's sound wired, doesn't it?

Should you say it like this: "I should allow no, dog of mine" (with a comma)?

No, it sounds quite normal to me.

Certainly, no comma.

No dog of mine will = Any dog that I own, have ever owned, or may someday own will not be able to do that.
