Shortest sentence

I learned that "GO" is considered the shortest meaningful sentence. Can you explain how it is the shortest sentence? what is the difference between "GO" and "DO" and "COME" as a complete sentence?

Top answer

"Go" is shorter than "Come" because "Go" has two letters and "Come" has four. "Do" requires an object, so it can't be used as a complete sentence. " In the right context, however, "Do" can be used as a complete sentence, but that requires something to precede it.

"Do" requires an object, so it can't be used as a complete sentence. A very short complete sentence with "Do" is "Do it." In the right context, however, "Do" can be used as a complete sentence, but that requires something to precede it.
