Shorter than the colored?

Hi. Are these correct? Could what has been omitted be inferred from the context?

The white hair of an animal is shorter than the colored (hair?).

How about this? Could what is omitted be inferred from the context? I don't know but the following sentence seems to convey a feeling of irony and harshness.

The hunter has become the hunted (person or animal?).
