Hello, anyone willing to scan through my 200-word essay about electric vehicles? I´m mostly struggling with commas, though I would appreciate any feedback and corrections. Thanks a million!
There is no doubt that petrol car exhausts have a negative impact on the environment, partaking in climate change, acid rains and heavy metals contamination. Although alternatively-fuelled cars such as electric vehicles are available, people seem reluctant to give up on combustion engines and I don´t think there is any justification for that.
Firstly, EVs can actually be the more economical choice, since the higher purchase price is equalized by low operating cost, since refuelling with petrol is more expensive than recharging with electricity. Moreover, I am convinced that EVs have reached a comparable level of comfort and safety, offering features like customized engine sound.
Some may argue that despite EVs giving off zero emissions, the power plants supplying the electricity are huge polluters themselves. I believe, however, that this energy can be much cleaner provided we use renewable resources. Another problem might be the insufficient number of recharging stations, but that is likely to improve with the increasing popularity of EVs.
To sum up, it seems that there are minor only disadvantages to owning an EV, most of which will be diminished be further advancements in technology. Therefore I encourage you to consider replacing your petrol car with an environmental-friendly option.

Your punctuation is fine, though some would insist on a comma after 'therefore'. Change 'partaking in' to 'contributing to' and delete 'Firstly'.
