Hi, please proofread my response to my classmate's post regarding the border issue. Thank you
I agree with you that we should not call illegal immigrants illegal alien. They are very different and belittling; even though it is illegal, called someone aliens mean that they are weird-looking organism on other planets that scientists have not yet confirmed their existence. We all have to acknowledge they are just humans. It has been known that undocumented workers are often hired to work the unpleasant, jobs that native American workers are not willing to do. This is controversial as some sources state that is true but other say the opposite. Some say immigrants mostly help the economy by providing low-cost labor but other say immigrants hurt the economy by occupying jobs of many Americans. I personally believe part of the reason why illegal worker take some jobs is because employees prefer pay less to them. I think there needs to be more intensive research and reliable statistics on the companies and employees in order to find out the truth.
I agree that not just Mexicans, but there are also other ethnicity who are seeking entry to the US through the border. Building a wall is not the best solution but the only effective solution to deal with an overwhelming flow of undocumented immigrants across the border. If we take away the wall, there is no way to prevent them, including crimes and addicts that may cause harm to society.
