Short question

"I hope you will find the analysis of the political situation herein stimulating in reflecting on the difficult years of the 1950s."

Does this sentence (especially the underscored part) work if what I am trying to say is that I hope the reader will find the analysis stimulating enough to make them rethink/reflect on the events of the 1950s? I am not sure whether the 'stimulating in reflecting on...." phrase works.
