How's my writing?

Please check for errors and grammatical fluidity - So, the other day I was in Houston and decided to go see the Houston space center/NASA. Right when I got there I was fascinated and drawn in by the advanced technological space machinery and the scientific innovations that human beings continue to create... I've gotta admit I didn't understand half of the stuff but even so it was super cool. One combination of things that particularly caught my attention was the laptop and travel kit that was said to be a "necessity" while the Astronauts were up in the orbit... I smirked and took a picture and thought to myself, haha, u know you're doing something right when u travel like a NASA astronaut!
