Hi Nicky,

What does " a novel is short-listed" mean? I'm asked to decide which writer should receive the award for Best Novel Of The Year. I look quickly at 100 novels, and make a short list of the 5 which seem to be the best. Now I read each of those 5 again, very carefully, and make my final decision.
