Short for "authority"

From a U.S. movie released in 1944. That is what a Texan woman says to a group of 3 men. One of them is a policeman:

"Now I'll go bring some coffee and water together and see what comes of that. Want to help, [.....]?"

The final word sounds like "sority". She is asking the policeman to help her to prepare the coffee. My question is:
Is it possible a short term for "authority" that sounds like "sority" or "surety"? I am asking about that because she clearly doesn't say "authority". Or is there another colloquial word used in the USA when you address to an uniformed officer that sound kind of similar to "sority"?

I doubt it is any form of "authority". I suppose you have eliminated the possibility that it is the person's name or nickname? Is it possible to post the audio clip of this?

You are right, GPY. The word is "Shorty", the policeman's nickname. Thanks a lot.

"Shorty" could be used if the person is not tall.
