Short conversation

Dan: Did you just get married? I didn’t know you were married.

Alex: No, I have been married.

Is this short conversation correct? I am trying to say I didn’t just get married and I have been married for quite some time with Alex’s response.

EverestCTS I am trying to say I didn’t just get married and I have been married for quite some time ... Then it would be better if you said that, like this: Alex: No, I have been married for quite some time. "I have been married" on its own can be interpreted as "I got married once", which leaves open the possibility that Alex got divorced since then * .
