*** wants to keep up with you on Twitter

Could you please explain to me the emboldened parts?

From the dictionary, "keep up with someone" means "If someone or something keeps up with someone or something else, they do whatever is necessary to stay level or equal with that person or thing"
But it doesn't fit in this context.

lextype=3&search=keep_up_with : "remain informed about something" / "stay in contact with somebody". "short" has the ordinary meaning, and "burst" means a brief, sudden and energetic instance of something.
