I think, Hanuman_2000, that there is more than one way of saying it.

So a quick Google search reveals the following examples and I spent a good while arranging them (Phew!...) :

1. do the shopping (British English)
She is doing the shopping right now.

2. do one's shopping (British English)
She does her shopping on Sundays.

3. go out shopping
She has gone out shopping.

4. be out shopping
She has been out shopping for three hours.

5. go to the shops (especially British English)
She goes to the shops at the weekends.

6. go to the mall (especially North American English)
She goes to the mall at the weekends.

7. go to a store (especially North American English)
She goes to a store at the weekends.

8. do the grocery shopping (especially North American English)
She does the grocery shopping at the weekends.

9. do a bit of window-shopping: (especially North American English) to look at the goods in shop or store windows, usually without intending to buy anything
She does a bit of window-shopping at the weekends.

10. hit the mall: (North American English, informal) a colloquial say to say ''let's go to the mall (shopping center)'' usually associated with teenagers
She always likes to hit the mall.

There are many ways to express this concept, but your example #2 is not one of them. It is incorrect.
