Hi, there,
Please, is there any difference between shop and shoppe?
Also, do they sound the same? Or should I stress the end of "shopPE"?
tks!

2. They usually sound the same, though a lot of people say 'shoppy' – mostly to express ridicule at the pretentiousness of it.
Shoppe is one of several Middle English variations of shop. It appears in Chaucer. When the printing press came to England, each printer decided how to spell the words.
