shingle beach vs pebble beach

Hello.

What is the difference between these two beaches?

My hypothesis: pebble beach is a type of shingle beach. I think that shingle beach is made of stones in general, and pebble beach is made of round little stones.

Thank you.

A pebble beach has round, smooth, and relatively uniform stones, say about one to four inches across, with little or no grit and sand mixed in. A shingle beach is any kind of mixture of small stones, possibly with some sand and grit mixed in. Pebble beach: Shingle beach:
