Are these correct?
The sun shone on the horizon. The sun shone.
(Not 'the sun shined'.)
He shined my shoes, shined the furniture with Pledge, etc)
(Not 'shone my shoes, shone the furniture, etc)

Outshone is the better choice, though outshined is not wrong..
