shift handover

Let's assume that there're two shifts at a hospital or at a hotel and there's a situation, as the evening approaches, that a lot of people come with questions and you're just dealing with the shift handover. Is it correct to say:You'll have to wait a couple of minutes, we're handing over the shift or we're handing it over to the night shift or is there a better way to say this?Thank you so much.

Anonymous Is it correct to say:You'll have to wait a couple of minutes, we're handing over the shift or we're handing it over to the night shift That is probably too rude to the guest. Something like this: I'm terribly sorry, but we are changing shift workers at the moment. Could you please wait for a couple of minutes, and our night receptionist will be right with you.
