Thanks dear Rover.
So what if I want to talk about the cities where Shias live?
Should I say "Shia cities"

Hi,

In answer to your original post, in casual, everyday English, it's common to just say eg This is a Christian area.

Why not just, "This is a place where Shias live" or "Shias live here"?

The phrase "a Shia residing area" is a noun phrase which is used as a subject, object, or complement in a sentence. For example,"Iran is a Shia residing country." Or in a different way, "Iran, a predominantly Shia residing area, is a Muslim country in Asia."

Hi,

As already mentioned, the phrases
a Shia residing country / a Shia residing area
are not natural.

Say
eg a Shia country.
