she's so smoking

"She's so smoking." What does it mean?

"She is swell." Does it mean "she is stylish"? Is the usage common in daily talk?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Jeff <She's so smoking> I've never heard this before. If I did, I would assume that "she" was "obviously attractive in looks or manner". <She's swell> I would take this to mean "she is a fine person".

  • It sounds like something an older AmE speaker might say; but I may be wrong.
