sheer window

Perhaps a window set into an inner door (we have a frosted one in our bathroom door) or between e.g. the kitchen and dining room.

It looks like a sheer window is a window with sheer drapes.

Can anyone confirm?

The term 'sheer', in the context of windows, will normally refer to the curtain, blind, or drape covering. A sheer covering filters, rather than blocks out, light. It seems the term could also be applied to the window glass itself, as in MM's suggestion about a bathroom window. Such glass, frosted or pebbled, will let in the light, but filter the details of form.
