I wonder if it should be 'into' instead of 'in' in that question. Also, is it better to say 'What will it mean?' instead?

"Would" (conditional) is better here -- "what would it mean if ...."

"What would it mean if we elected a woman president?" -- speculative -- might or might not happen

"What will it mean when we elect a woman predsident?" -- assumes this will definitely happen sometime in the future.

Also, "goes in the parentheses" (plural) sounds better to m
