Hi

Could you please tell me if these lines read naturally, especially the underlined parts. Any suggestion is welcome.

She was in the kitchen when she heard some screams which curbed as instantly as they had come. Realizing that her three years old daughter was alone in the yard she came out calling to her. And suddenly a horror confronted her. Cathy’s half-conscious maid was stuck to the iron grill and was clearly getting electrocuted.

A horror confronted her : Cathy’s maid was half-conscious , stuck to the iron grill and was clearly getting electrocuted.
