I'm trying to see the difference between these sentences

-she should have known it would be like that

-she should have known it was like that

are they both correct?

Hi, In my opinion, they´re both correct. In the first sentence, "would" refers to something that was to happen in the future, whilst "was" in the second sentence suggests she was not aware of something happening just then.

I think that the second one is correct. How can she be aware if an event was to happen in the future? I do not agree with Dipsik.

I had waited for someone more eligible to give an explanation. As no answer appeared, I decided I´d gather up pieces of my knowledge, and dared to answer myself. I may be wrong, of course, but I´d sooner a native speaker told me.
