She put many pre-conditions to seeing him again

Hi

Is this sentence natural English? Any suggestions are welcome.

(When he tried to meet his former wife, it was not easy...)

She put many pre-conditions to seeing him again -- conditions he couldn't fulfill.

Thanks,

Tom

'Set' and 'meet' are the usual, I think, and there is a mental blip when the reader sees 'preconditions' and 'conditions': She set many preconditions to seeing him again —ones he couldn't meet .
