Which pronoun should I use: she or her?

Pedantic people will say "she" but most people do say "her." You can also say "than she was."

Objective case? You mean a word answering the question 'who' or 'what'?

I notice that many strict formal writers would prefer she. But in informal conversation and writing, her can also be used.
