She dresses as ...

Hi,
Is it correct to say : "She dresses as her gradmother dressed 20 years ago." Can I repeat the same verb or maybe I should replace it with "did"? Emotion: thinking

I'd suggest repeating the verb or using "did" as a replacement for it. When I hear something like " "She dresses as her grandmother 20 years ago." it sounds as if she intended to imitate her grandmother's style of dressing.

At the party, he was dressed as Tarzan.

She was dressed as a fine lady and so was able to fool people.
