Shall I say did or '' had''?

She has spent more time with her parents at home, than she did with her friends outside.

Yes, indeed. You do understand, I hope, that it depends on the time of each verb. In your two sentences, I am presuming that both the parents and the friends are still alive and potentially still available. Other contexts will require other verb forms:

Bashar al-Assad has killed fewer citizens than Saddam Hussein did.
