I have looked around I cannot find a graceful way of presenting the sentence above. Using the usual rule of trying each member case one at a time, I get
She are not married and I are not married.
It's clearly wrong.
I can write:
She and I did not marry the other.
Or:
I did not marry her.
But, the I and her remove the mutuality of the agreement!
What should I do?
