‘s/he’

Is the use of ‘s/he’ frowned upon?

How do we pronounce ‘s/he’ when it is used in a sentence? Is it pronounced ‘she or he’, ‘he or she’, ‘she-he’, or some other way?

When they find out who is responsible, s/he is going to be in some serious trouble.

Thank you.
