Shaven

Does this make sense? I know what shave off means in this sentence but how would you define the way it is used in the sentence?

Put 3 shaven off spoons/spoonfuls of sugar and not a mountain of sugar in each spoon/spoonful.

Can you say small or big spoons or spoonfuls? Or is a spoonful the amount a spoon can hold so it can't be described as big or small?

Put 3 small spoons /spoonfuls of sugar.

Thank you

Ps
Is this sentence correct?
How would you define the way the word is used in the sentence?
Or
how would you define the word the way it is used in the sentence?

I would want the answer to be : The definition of the word X (as) used in the sentence is....
(Is having the "as" correct?)

Thank you
