Shared the spoils

Chennai have a superior run rate to Delhi but that hardly takes any pressure off them. This match still takes on the form of a knock out and a win for either side would put them on par with Bangalore in points terms but they would still need a victory in their last league match. History suggests its Delhi's turn to win tonight, because the teams have shared the spoils in the previous two editions of the tournament and Chennai beat Delhi in their first meeting this season. It won't be easy though because the Super Kings have a habit of rewriting history books.

Please explain to me the emboldened parts.
