Shards on a wall

Hi

What is the term for the broken glass that is cemented on a wall for security reasons? Our newspapers/magazines use the word shards.

https://www.google.com.pk/search?q=indian+gooseberry&biw=1024&bih=677&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&sqi=2&ved=0ahUKEwjRjcmCib_NAhUFORoKHW8lBOgQ_AUIBigB#tbm=isch&q=shards+on+a+wall

Are these sentences natural? Any suggestions are welcome.

I want to have shards fixed/cemented on my outer garden walls.

The wall had shards and so the thief couldn't scale it.

The shards on the wall deterred the children from climbing it.

Thanks,

Tom

Hi

I think that 'cemented' works well:

- The shards of glass have been cemented into the wall as an anti-climb measure

Thanks, Dave.

Do these sentences read naturally?

I want to have shards fixed/cemented on my outer garden walls.

The wall had shards and so the thief couldn't scale it.

The shards on the wall deterred the children from climbing it.

Hi

The second and the third are good. With the first, 'cemented' and 'fixed' are good. I'm not sure about the preposition. I think I would favour these:

- I want to have shards cemented on top of my outer garden walls.

- I want to have shards fixed to the top of my outer garden walls.
