Clive, To me none of the answer was correct. To be honest, I couldn't understand the OP question if my life depends on it. But by the simple phrase in the question, "look forward" is followed by "to" and a gerund, or a noun. Either "Look forward for..." or any one on the list would be incorrect, in my opinion. That's the reason I said it has a problem in the OP question.
It seems clear to me that the examiner is considering the correct version to be I really look forwardto studying Japanese to prepare for my trip to Tokyo.
