Shampoo and set

Hi,

I came across the phrase shampoo, set and trim in a movie. I don't know the meaning of set in the context of hairdressing. Can you please help me?
I quick google search reveals that shampoo and set are often listed together. Is set a specific hairdo or does it just mean that you'll have you hair set the way it originally was before being washed?

Thank you
H.

The "set" part means that the desired hairstyle is fixed in place using some kind of setting lotion. To me, "shampoo and set" has an old-fashioned sound to it (though I am no expert in hair fashions).
