Shall I or Will I post that letter for you on my way to the office?

I have been taught at school that shall will be used with I/We so I chose "Shall I ..." but in our answer sheet, the correct answer is "Will I ..."

I don't understand why.

Can some of you help me to find what the accurate answer is and explain why?
