Shakespeare meaning

I was wondering what Shakespeare meant in his play Much Ado About Nothing when he says "you will never run mad" does he mean you will never go insane?

Top answer

Yes. To run mad is the same as to go mad, but I have never heard "run mad", and "go mad" is not in my dialect.
