Sew vs stich

Hi

Would you say that these two words are essentially synonymous?

(Sew/stitch = by hand or machine)

Where do you have your suits stitched from?

Where do you have your suits sewn from?

She sat by the window stitching her son's new shirt.

She sat by the window sewing her son's new shirt.

We bought a lot of unstitched clothes.

We bought a lot of unsewn clothes.

Thanks,

Tom
