Several time repeated?

Hello. I'm reading this one text where it says; Soon she heard a low sound, several time repeated.// The last part of that sentence sounds wrong. Am I being stupid or is it actually incorrect?

And pardon me if I made any mistakes writing this. (English is my third language)
