several questions

Hello!

I have several questions:

1. What does it mean I don't want to go into gritty details?

2. The room was quiet but for the compressor on the freezer cycling down.

3.He's getting off on the risk as much as anything else.

4.The very tought was emotionaly taxing.

5. Husband to his ex-wife: I'm worried about you.

The Ex-wife to her ex-husband: You don't get to do that anymore.

6. organ scale - does this organ refer to body organs?

'Gritty' is usually used in combination with nitty' as in let's get down to the nitty-gritty. It's an informal expression

Thank you very much. |I understand everything except cycling down. If I got it right, it describes the sound of the compressor when it shuts down (stops being heard)?

Danyoo explained it very well: it's the sound a refrigerator at the end of one of its cycles/ at the beginning of one of its cycles. i'm sure you've heard it!

I have one more question regarding number 3. as much as anything else-does it mean not only is he excited about everything else (other sick stuff that he did to his victims)but he is in a same way excited (turned on) by the risk of doing it?
