Hello, would someone please take a look at following sentence:

Several more companies are moving to enter the lucrative pet food market of the country.

What's the meaning of "several more" here, or what's the difference between "several" and "several more" ?

Several people entered the room. This does not tell us if anyone was already in the room.



Several more people entered the room. This tells us that at least one person was already in the room.
