Several different questions

0 1) I haven't *** or *** slightest idea? (yes I know it's superlative, but in some cases we may use an indefinite article with superlative degree) 02br
002) *a" nice weather or without any article? (yes I know it's uncountable, but there is a descriptive attribute "nice") 02br
003) "It's *** a five minutes' walk from here." - Do we always need the preposition in this case? 02br
004) Is "downtown" a word from American English? Can I say, e.g. "it's in the downtown of Chelyabinsk (a city in Russia)?" 02br
005) What word would you prefer: reduction or discount? Is there any difference in meaning or they are just synonyms? 0-

0 Don't be too hard on your teacher, K48. If you read the threads, you'll notice that even native speakers have different opinions someties - though not about this. She is definitely right that you don't use the indefinite article with 'a' with "nice weather". 02br

00"Weather" is an uncountable noun; you can't say "a weather, two weathers" etc. 02br

0 Hi, K48 - I would just say "it's in downtown Chelyabinsk." (Assuming Chelyabinsk is big enough to have some tall buildings and busy streets. If you say "downtown" about a small town with only two streets and three stores, it sounds sarcastic.) "Downtown" is used rather oddly, without a lot of prepositions: 02br
