1. I assume they mean "mattress and springs" as a set. So you have the queen-size set of mattress and springs and the king-size set of mattress and springs. Both together would be two sets.

Is it true that a set always consists of more than one component?
For instance, a king set consists of two components: a mattress + springs; a TV set consists of many components: transistors + printed circuit boards + screen + power connector + remote control + ......
