Setnence Combining

Hi,

Just wondering if this sentence is good.
Mr. Volmers from Calgary Herald states that Calgary’s former poet laureate, Kris Demeanor, is one of the few Albertans that has been nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for his performance in the Drumheller-shot indie drama, The Valley Below.

Does this sentence make you think that more than one actor has been nominated for the movie The Valley Below.

Is there a way that will not confuse people for that? If so please give me some examples. does it matter if I use "who" instead of "that" to connect the two sentences?

Thanks!

Hi, thanks for your answer.

I have another question if you don't mind answering. What would the sentence be look like if actually all of them are nominated for the award in that movies? what makes the sentences different from each other?

Thanks

All of who? Do you mean that every person in Alberta has been nominated?
