set in one's HABITS / WORLDVIEW?

I've been thinking about how best to express the notion that sb is so deeply attached to their habits / worldview / behavioural patterns that it is virtually impossible for them to change it / them(selves). I know there's "to be set in one's ways" phrase, but would it work as well for "habits" and "worldview"? If not, what would? Is, perhaps, "deeply attached to" the correct phrase to be used in such a context?

Set in one's ways is most used for personal habits. Not that we couldn't apply it to a larger scale, however I feel certain that there must be something much more appropriate. Do you need to have a idiom or phrase?

It doesn't matter, to be honest, as long as it expresses what I'm trying to convey;) I've been also wondering about "steeped", but British National Corpus suggests it primarily collocates with "tradition" and "history", so I am not sure about it. I will be very grateful for any help:) It may seem rather trivial at first, but the more I think about it, the more of a linguistic conundrum it appears

There is one more thing somewhat pertinent to the topic above: what would be the words collocating with "worldview" and denoting its "flexibility" and "inflexibility"? Would either flexible or inflexible worldview sound at least semi-correct?

Steep is a really good word to use when one has been saturated in an ideology or, as BNC suggests, history and tradition. I would not discount the use of steeped in. So, you get a clearer picture just how we use steep and to what degree it is referring, we steep our tea bags in hot water. Now, remember we would not say that we steep people in something. We say

Yes, I would say I am get a very clear picture of the type of mind that you are wanting to portray with either of these words. A flexible worldview would belong to an individual that is willing to accept new or differing ideas. Then, of course, the opposite would be true of the individual with an inflexible worldview. That person has a set of values and ideas that are set in stone and, therefore,

ShatteredEquilibrium, I am honored that you have returned for more. To answer your question... you are correct. The word discriminate is a verb, however discriminating is not used to describe one's biased views. I will give you other words that we do use and perhaps from these you will choose which one you feel most satisfies your need. I am going to use linking verbs with the adjectives.
