Hi! everyone. Could you tell me whether "service on a.." here means "service for a...."? Where the Licence Manager has made a decision under subsection 11.5 of this By-law the Licence Manager’s written notice of that decision shall be given to the Applicant or the Licensee by regular mail to the last known address of that person and shall be deemed to have been given on the 3 rd day after it is mailed. Service on a corporation can be effected by registered mail to the address of the corporation’s registered head office. Does "effected" here mean "rendered"? Thanks!

I think "service on a corporation" means "delivery (of the notice) to a corporation". (Official and legal notices are often said to be "served" on people, though "service" is less common, at least in my experience.)
