Sequence of Tense

sequence of tense - does it matter when writing a notice for pet adoption bulletin board?

e.g.: This kitten was rescued after an accident. It suffers a cut on its rear leg and a blow onto its body. It has since remarkably recovered from its injuries and is now eating well. This is a healthy cat and needs to be re-homed. It has a lovey and affectionate nature.

"is" or "was" in this case? thank you.
