Which is correct if the antecedent is Mary?

1) Much to her relief, Mary found the book.
2) Much to Mary's relief, she found the book.

Which is correct if the antecedent is John?
1) Due to his anxiety, John lost the match.
2) Due to John's anxiety, he lost the match.
